ForbesToday’s NYT ‘Strands’ Tips, Spangram and Answers for Saturday, July 13th

Hello, people! I hope you are having a great weekend, whether that means going out and doing things, relaxing at home,

Today’s NYT Strings tips, spangram and answers are coming good.

How to Play Strands

New York Times’ Strings puzzle is an old word search game. It is not available in the NYT Games app as well as the likes of Words and Links (which we provide in Forbes Sports daily guides).

There is a new game of Strings to play every day. The game will present you with six to eight networks. The goal is to find a group of words that have something in common, and you’ll get a clue as to what that topic is. When you find a keyword, it will always be highlighted in blue.

You will also need to find a special word called a spangram. This tells you what similar words have in common. A spangram joins at least two sides of the board, but may not start or end there. While keywords cannot be a proper name, spangram can be a proper name. When you receive a spangram, it will always be highlighted in yellow.

Each letter is used once in one of the keywords and the spangram. You can connect letters vertically, horizontally and horizontally, and it is possible to switch words in the middle of a word. If you’re playing on a touch screen, double-tap the last letter to give your feedback.

If you get three correct words of at least four letters that are not part of the title, you will unlock the Guess button. Clicking this will highlight the letters that make up one of the keywords.

Note: You will need to be on your toes. Sometimes you will need to fill in the missing words in a sentence. On other days, the game may be based on synonyms or homophones. The difficulty will be different every day, and the puzzle makers will try to surprise you sometimes.

What are Today’s Strands Answers?

Spoiler alert! Don’t continue scrolling down the page until you’re ready for today’s news Strings answers.

I’ll tell you the spangram first and show you where it is on the grid. I’ll tell you some words and show you how they fit together.

This is your last warning!

Today’s Strings spangram is…

HOMOPHONES

Here’s where you’ll find it on the grid…

Some of today’s Strings keywords are…

  • PETE
  • HAPPY
  • THE SAME
  • FILL IT OUT
  • THE GAME
  • EVERYTHING
  • HAIR
  • ATOM

Here’s what the finished grid looks like…

I didn’t have much to do here, so I unlocked the PEAT light on the top left. That didn’t help much, so I unlocked it for a second to give me the FILL characters. So I thought they would be homonyms for first names at the time (Pete and Fill). I saw GALE (Gail) on the right to confirm my suspicions.

It was there that I found the spangram, which blocked the letters HAIRY (Harry) and MERRY (Mary) to the right. Then I saw RUTLE (Russel) on the left, which left the letters WHINNY (Winnie) and ATOM (Tom, I believe?).

I used two keywords and spangram was the fourth keyword I found.

That’s it for today Strings facts and answers. Be sure to check out my blog for tips and solutions for Monday’s game if you need them.

PS Because it was the light of today’s topic, this song is already stuck in my head. The old one.
